Plots also vary: scatter and bubble plots are the most\ntraditional. Though when it comes to big data, analysts use box plots that\nenable to visualize the relationship between large volumes of different data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maps are widely-used in different industries. They allow to position elements on relevant objects and areas &#8211; geographical maps, building plans, website layouts, etc. Among the most popular map visualizations are heat maps, dot distribution maps, cartograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Diagrams and matrices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diagrams are usually used to demonstrate complex data\nrelationships and links and include various types of data on one visualization.\nThey can be hierarchical, multidimensional, tree-like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matrix is a big data visualization technique that\nallows to reflect the correlations between multiple constantly updating\n(steaming) data sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amazon QuickSight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is a business analytics service <\/li><li>Use to build visualizations<\/li><li>perform ad hoc analysis<\/li><li>get business insights from data. <\/li><li>Can automatically discover AWS data sources <\/li><li>Also works with other data sources. <\/li><li>Uses a robust in-memory engine (SPICE)<\/li><li>Amazon QuickSight offers Standard and Enterprise\neditions.<\/li><li>Choose the language to use in the Amazon\nQuickSight user interface. <\/li><li>The language option is set separately for each\nindividual user. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Amazon QuickSight Components<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Data Sources and Data Preparation &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>use a variety of sources for data analysis,\nincluding files, AWS services, and on-premises databases. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Data Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is the process of transforming raw data for\nuse in an analysis. <\/li><li>It includes making changes like <ul><li>Filtering\nout data so you can focus on what&#8217;s important to you<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Renaming\nfields to make them easier to read<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Changing\ndata types so they are more useful<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Adding\ncalculated fields to enhance analysis<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Creating\nSQL queries to refine data<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SPICE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>SPICE expands to Super-fast, Parallel, In-memory Calculation Engine. <\/li><li>It rapidly performs advanced calculations and serve data. <\/li><li>Storage and processing capacity in SPICE speeds up the analytical queries.<\/li><li>With SPICE, don&#8217;t need to retrieve the data every time you change an analysis or update a visual. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Data Analyses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is the basic workspace <\/li><li>Used for creating and interacting with visuals\nor graphical representations of data. <\/li><li>Each analysis contains a collection of visuals\nthat assemble and arrange for the purpose<\/li><li>Each analysis can contain stories<\/li><li>Stories save a sequential slide show of\ndifferent iterations of the analysis. <\/li><li>It is useful to show changes over time or visual\ncomparisons of data. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visuals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A visual, also called as a data visualization<\/li><li>It is a graphical representation of a data set <\/li><li>It used a type of <ul><li>Diagram<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Chart<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Graph<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>table.\n<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>All visuals begin in AutoGraph mode, which\nautomatically selects visualization based on the fields selected. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Insights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a suggested insight to quickly create a visual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suggested insights, officially called ML Insights<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>propose potentially useful visuals based on a\nevaluation of your data. You can either choose one from the list, or you can\ncreate your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sheets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A sheet is a set of visuals that are viewed together in\na single page. When you create an analysis, you place visuals in the workspace\non a sheet. You can imagine this a sheet from a newspaper, except that it is\nfilled with data visualizations. You can add more sheets, and make them work\nseparately or together in your analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A story is a set of one or more scenes (captured\nvisuals) that you can play like a slideshow. You can use these to step through\ndifferent iterations of an analysis. A scene is a representation of an analysis\nat a given point in time, or with specific settings. It shows the visuals that\nare on the analysis at that time, but the data in those visuals continues to\nupdate. It is not a static snapshot. You capture a scene for use in a story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dashboards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A dashboard is a read-only snapshot of an analysis that\nyou can share with other Amazon QuickSight users for reporting purposes. When\nyou create and publish a dashboard, you specify which users have access to it.\nThey can view and filter the dashboard visuals without changing the underlying\ndata. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>QuickSight Working<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Begin by choosing a dataset. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can groom your dataset by adding new data elements,\ncreating calculations, or filtering out data. When you&#8217;re satisfied that the\ndataset works for you, you can start analyzing it through graphics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you can create a visual representation of your\ndata. If you don&#8217;t know what kind of chart you should use, Amazon QuickSight\ncan help you by choosing a visual type for you. To see this in action, choose\nsome fields. As you choose more fields, Amazon QuickSight&#8217;s AutoGraph changes\nthe type of visual it displays. It adapts to what you choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can continue to add more visuals to the same\nanalysis, based on different views of the same underlying data. To fit more\nvisuals on a page, you can resize and rearrange them. Scroll down to find more\nspace on the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By creating a series of visuals, you create a story.\nThis visual narrative tells you what is happening in the subject you&#8217;re\ninvestigating. You can save multiple stories, using filters to show how the\ndata changes over time. Any of these visual data analyses can be shared with\nother people, who can then further analyze the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use Amazon QuickSight to publish data\ndashboards. These are read-only snapshots that you can share for reporting.
