{"id":2591,"date":"2019-08-28T09:11:15","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T09:11:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.com\/tutorial\/?page_id=2591"},"modified":"2020-05-01T09:10:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-01T09:10:29","slug":"ipv4","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.ai\/tutorial\/aws-certified-advanced-networking-specialty\/ipv4\/","title":{"rendered":"IPv4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Expands to Internet Protocol Version 4 <\/li><li>It is fourth revision of the Internet Protocol <\/li><li>It is connectionless protocol used in\npacket-switched layer networks <\/li><li>It uses best effort delivery and not guarantee\nthat packets would be delivered to the destined host, <\/li><li>Used to uniquely identify hosts by IP addressing\nscheme. <\/li><li>uses 32-bit logical address like 121.121.123.123,\nin 5 classes &#8211; A, B, C, D and E. <\/li><li>Each three-digit section can include a number\nfrom 0 to 255, hence total IPv4 addresses are 256 x 256 x 256 x 256<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IP Address<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>IP address, a 32 bit binary number, looks like &nbsp;00000100 10000000 00000011 00000001<\/li><li>Divided into four 8-bit chunks, called octet as&nbsp; 4.128.3.1 <\/li><li>IP address has two parts<ul><li>The leftmost bits specify the network address component, called network ID.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The rightmost bits specify the host address components, called host ID.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Hosts on a network communicate with devices in same network by MAC address &nbsp;or networking device hardware&nbsp; address<\/li><li>For different networks, router is needed to move data. <\/li><li>LAN has a unique network ID <\/li><li>All hosts(PCs\/Mobiles), on that network have same network ID but different host ID. <\/li><li>Network ID enables a router to put a packet onto correct network segment. <\/li><li>To decide which network is correct, the router looks up a routing table, which has entries for network addresses (network ID + all host bits set to 0). <\/li><li>Each network interface on host uses a unique IP address. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"524\" height=\"306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.ai\/tutorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/image-249.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3959\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A, B, and C Classes of Networks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IP addresses are broken into 5 classes for different\nsizes of networks as<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Class A (1-126)- For extremely\nlarge networks.
