{"id":27862,"date":"2020-12-22T10:52:17","date_gmt":"2020-12-22T10:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.com\/tutorial\/?page_id=27862"},"modified":"2020-12-22T11:08:17","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T11:08:17","slug":"modify-forms-and-views","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.ai\/tutorial\/modify-forms-and-views\/","title":{"rendered":"Modify forms and views"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We will learn to use the new forms designer to create, edit, or configure forms for model-driven apps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learn to Modify forms using the Form Designer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to Create a Form<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Firstly, sign in to&nbsp;Power Apps.<\/li><li>Secondly, on the left navigation pane, expand&nbsp;<strong>Data<\/strong>, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Tables<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Then, select a table, such as an account table, and then select the&nbsp;<strong>Forms<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li><li>Lastly, select&nbsp;Add form and then select &#8211; main form, Quick create form or Quick view form<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"edit-a-form\"><strong>Steps to Edit a form<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Firstly, sign in to&nbsp;Power Apps.<\/li><li>Secondly, on the left navigation pane, expand&nbsp;<strong>Data<\/strong>, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Tables<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Then, select a table, such as an account table, and then select the&nbsp;<strong>Forms<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li><li>Next, select the form name that you want to edit<\/li><li>Lastly, when you are done making changes to the form, select&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>&nbsp;to save the form, or select&nbsp;<strong>Publish<\/strong>&nbsp;if you want to save and make your changes visible to app users.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to Configuring a Form<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the properties available to configure a form when you create or edit a form using the form designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Title<\/strong> &#8211; Enter a name that is meaningful to other makers and app users.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Description<\/strong> &#8211; Enter a description that explains how the form is different from other main forms.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Max Width<\/strong> &#8211; Set a maximum width (in pixels) to limit the width of the form. The default value is 1900.<\/li><li><strong>Show image<\/strong> &#8211; It shows the table\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Primary Image<\/strong>&nbsp;if it has one set. Moreover, this setting will enable showing the image column in the header of the form.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learn to Create and Edit model-driven app views<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to create a public view in Power Apps<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At first, Sign in to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/make.powerapps.com\/?utm_source=padocs&amp;utm_medium=linkinadoc&amp;utm_campaign=referralsfromdoc\">Power Apps<\/a>.<\/li><li>Secondly, Expand&nbsp;<strong>Data<\/strong>, select&nbsp;<strong>Tables<\/strong>, select the table that you want, and then select the&nbsp;<strong>Views<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li><li>Then, On the toolbar, select&nbsp;<strong>Add view<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Next, On the&nbsp;<strong>Create a view<\/strong>&nbsp;dialog box, enter a name and, optionally, a description, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the view designer, select&nbsp;<strong>+ View column<\/strong>&nbsp;to add additional columns you want to display in the view.<\/li><li>In the view designer, you can perform filter, sort, configure or reorder.<\/li><li>Lastly, select&nbsp;<strong>Publish<\/strong>&nbsp;to save the view and make it available for other users in your organization.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to Open and add a view in the app designer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Firstly, in Power Apps select&nbsp;<strong>Apps<\/strong>&nbsp;from the left navigation pane, select&nbsp;<strong>&#8230;<\/strong>&nbsp;next to the app you want, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Edit<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Secondly, in the app designer&nbsp;<strong>Table View<\/strong>&nbsp;section, select&nbsp;<strong>Views<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Lastly, in order to add a view, select it by using view types such as Public, Advanced Find, Associated, and Lookup. The view is automatically added to the&nbsp;<strong>Views<\/strong>&nbsp;list.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to add a column to your view in app designer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Firstly, in app designer, select the table view that you want and then on the right pane next to the view that you want to select edit (pencil button).<\/li><li>On the&nbsp;<strong>Components<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, select the&nbsp;<strong>Column Attributes<\/strong>&nbsp;list for either the&nbsp;<strong>Primary Table<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Related Table<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Then, from the list, select the attribute you want and drag it to the column heading.
