{"id":2989,"date":"2019-08-31T11:03:22","date_gmt":"2019-08-31T11:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.com\/tutorial\/?page_id=2989"},"modified":"2022-03-03T10:02:06","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T10:02:06","slug":"aws-abuse-notices","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.ai\/tutorial\/aws-certified-security-specialty\/aws-abuse-notices\/","title":{"rendered":"AWS Abuse Notices"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The AWS Abuse Notices team sends abuse reports to contact as listed in AWS account<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of abusive behavior<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Spam: Receiving unwanted emails from AWS-owned\nIP address.<\/li><li>Port scanning: Logs show that AWS-owned IP\naddresses are sending packets to multiple ports on server, and may be to\ndiscover unsecured ports.<\/li><li>Denial of service attacks (DOS): Logs point that\nAWS-owned IP addresses are flooding ports on AWS resources with packets.<\/li><li>Intrusion attempts: AWS-owned IP addresses are\nattempting to log in to AWS resources.<\/li><li>Hosting objectionable or copyrighted content:\nEvidence that AWS resources are used to host or distribute illegal content.<\/li><li>Distributing malware: Evidence that AWS resources are used to distribute malware  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.testpreptraining.ai\/tutorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/image-122.png\" alt=\"AWS Abuse Notices\" class=\"wp-image-3678\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Abuse Resolution <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First step should be change of AWS account password for both IAM and root user <\/li><li>Delete or rotate all AWS access keys<\/li><li>Deleting any potentially compromised IAM users<\/li><li>Delete any unrecognized or unauthorized resources<\/li><li>Contact AWS Support<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Report abuse of AWS resources&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If AWS resources are being used for abusive purposes, <ul><li>contact the AWS Abuse Notices team using Report Amazon EC2 Abuse form, or <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>by contacting <a href=\"mailto:abuse@amazonaws.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abuse@amazonaws.com<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abuse Notice receipt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you receive an abuse notice from AWS, then<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Review abuse notice about reported activity. <\/li><li>Reply directly to abuse report and explain your actions to prevent abusive activity in future.<\/li><li>If you don&#8217;t respond to an abuse notice within 24 hours, AWS might block resources or suspend AWS account.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AWS Abuse Notices team sends abuse reports to contact as listed in AWS account Types of abusive behavior Spam: Receiving unwanted emails from AWS-owned IP address.
